The map of Scotland below has been created to help you find a dementia inclusive choir or singing group in your local area.
Some of these groups have been set up specifically to support people who are living with dementia and their carers. Other groups are community choirs that are accessible, welcoming and inclusive of people affected by dementia, as well as other people from the local community. Before being added to the map, all the groups have evaluated their activities to confirm that they work in an inclusive way for people living with dementia.
Each blue symbol on the map represents a singing group or choir. To view a singing group, just click on the blue symbol.
To move around the map, click and drag using your cursor to explore singing groups and choirs across the country. Use the plus and minus on the left-hand side to zoom in and out. Alternatively, you can use the search tools below the map to find singing groups closest to you.
We hope this map is easy to use. If you have any problems using the map to find a singing group, or have any suggestions on how this page could be improved, please get in touch and let us know.
How to search by postcode:
1. Type your postcode into the blue box. Example: AB1 2CD
2. Click the purple button.
3. Your screen will scroll to a map with your closest choirs or singing group.
4. Below the map is the contact information for your closest choirs.
Search your current location by clicking the blue circle.
If you would like to search a bigger area click one of the location links below.
Each singing group organiser is responsible for all aspects of running their group. If you have any questions about a singing group or choir on the map, the group organiser will be able to answer them. If you are interested in attending a group but unsure if it is going to be suitable for you, please contact the group organiser who will be happy to speak to you about their activity, the facilities provided and health and safety matters.
