Celebrate Global Intergenerational Week 2025
Thu, 10th Apr 2025
To celebrate Global Intergenerational Week 2025, groups and individuals of all ages are being invited to come together online on Thursday, 24th April for a live, coordinated song and dance event.
The event will be repeated at three different times during the day. So, depending on where you are in the world, there will be an opportunity to join in the fun via Zoom and celebrate. Or, you can send in a recording and be included in a video compilation that will be shared digitally and across social media.
In the UK, the live event will take place from 10am to 11am, and we could not be more delighted that Travel These Ways by Karine Polwart is the song that people will sing globally to celebrate. The song was commissioned for people living with dementia to sing at home or in choirs and singing groups. Choir leader Stephen Deazley worked with Karine to create the resources, which you can find here Dementia Inclusive Singing Network website.
There is also an incredible dance piece choreographed by Xanthe Golenko which is available to learn online and can be performed seated or standing.
If you, or your group, would like to take part then click below to register online.
