New grant scheme to support dementia inclusive singing

Fri, 2nd Oct 2020

Scotland’s Dementia Inclusive Singing Network has launched a new grants programme to help ensure people affected by dementia can continue to access singing opportunities during Covid-19 restrictions.

Grants of between £200 and £1,000 are available to support the introduction of new dementia inclusive activities or improve existing opportunities.

Full details are here.

Kirsty Walker, Dementia Inclusive Singing Network Manager, said: “It’s not possible to meet and sing in groups at the moment and won’t be for some time to come.

“Groups who want to maintain that vital connection with people and connect with new people may need support in adapting to remote working. For example, purchasing equipment to support digital access, training staff or printing physical resources that can be sent out to participants in advance to complement an online gathering.

“Others will be thinking about making preparations for the gradual reintroduction of some face-to-face engagement, when government guidance allows, and may need support to purchase PPE, for example.”

The closing date is Sunday, 18th October 2020. For more information visit the Grants page on the Dementia inclusive Singing Network website here. You can also email singing@luminatescotland.org for full details about how to apply or call 0131 668 8056.
